TaylorMade Burner Driver - Fitness equipment Classifieds

Free Classifieds Health & Fitness Fitness Equipment

Good morning everyone! Let's start with the TaylorMade Burner SuperFast.

The superfast 2.0 driver is truly revolutionary and a great purchase for any mid/high handicap players looking for something new. The Burner SuperFast 2.0 Driver isn't a one trick pony either. TaylorMade calls these their "lightest driver and fairway woods ever". The driver weighs 284 grams. I'll be curious to try this one. The Burner is TaylorMade?s entry into the high MOI market, it?s bullet-like shape almost looks normal in today?s market. This low center of gravity helps get the ball in the air and further down the middle. Bringing back the ?Burner? name was a great way to give this club a boost. TaylorMade?s SuperFast technology delivers and helps make this one of the longest drivers on the market. Golfers that have difficulty keeping shorter drivers straight won?t benefit from the extra shaft length. The Burner really holds up well on miss hits and is one of the more forgiving drivers on the market. The Burner comes in at a great price and is right in line with the ?value? offerings from other companies. Most golfers that we talk to agree that the Burner won?t win any awards for feel but it?s tough to argue with long and straight drives.

The previous Burner drivers have been pretty good. It?s rare to see a driver with a ?traditional shape? these days. TaylorMade Golf has created two different lines targeted at two different markets. The unique shape of the 460CC Burner helps draw the center of gravity deeper and further back. The discount superfast 2.0 driver features an extremely high MOI, allowing for maximum performance on miss hits. TaylorMade has equipped the Burner with a Fujikura RE*AX shaft which is becoming a staple in the TaylorMade line. The Burner was designed as more of a value offering but we see players of all levels trying it out. If we were to get our customers to rate the drivers they hit strictly on shot length, the Burner would rank near the top with most. To put things in perspective most drivers on the market are between 44?-45?. What it lacks in feel, it makes up in distance. The Burner seems to be overshadowed by the numerous R7 drivers but it?s a more than adequate ?value? compliment.

The taylormade superlaunch irons feature a similar story. Combine all these with a thin steel face and you've got what appears to be a pretty solid iron. Most comments are fairly positive yet the mark from our ?Rate This Club? poll was a bit lower than we expected. The performance of TaylorMade?s Burner irons has made it the best-selling iron model in the United States, and has helped thousands of golfers elevate their games to an entirely new level. Burner SuperLaunch irons are engineered to deliver tremendous forgiveness from end-to-end (heel to the toe) and top to bottom (topline to leading edge). In fact, it?s the most forgiving iron ever from TaylorMade. When you rest the taylormade superlaunch irons behind the ball, you?ll notice the substantial topline, which contributes to the exceptional stability and forgiveness. This shape, when combined with the wide sole and deep cavity, help make Burner SuperLaunch long-irons so much easier to launch at lower swing speeds.

Science, Education and Feynman ? Her mind's eye is?

I said, ?That?s how it looks to me, when I see you teaching the kids ?science? here in Brazil.? (Big blast, right?)

Then I held up the elementary physics textbook they were using. ?There are no experimental results mentioned anywhere in this book, except in one place where there is a ball, rolling down an inclined plane, in which it says how far the ball got after one second, two seconds, three seconds, and so on. The numbers have ?errors? in them?that is, if you look at them, you think you?re looking at experimental results, because the numbers are a little above, or a little below, the theoretical values. The book even talks about having to correct the experimental errors?very fine. The trouble is, when you calculate the value of the acceleration constant from these values, you get the right answer. But a ball rolling down an inclined plane, if it is actually done, has an inertia to get it to turn, and will, if you do the experiment, produce five-sevenths of the right answer, because of the extra energy needed to go into the rotation of the ball. Therefore this single example of experimental ?results? is obtained from a fake experiment. Nobody had rolled such a ball, or they would never have gotten those results!?.

?.and I started to read: ?Triboluminescence. Triboluminescence is the light emitted when crystals are crushed..

I said, ?And there, have you got science? No! You have only told what a word means in terms of other words. You haven?t told anything about nature-what crystals produce light when you crush them, why they produce light. Did you see any student go home and try it? He can?t.

?But if, instead, you were to write, ?When you take a lump of sugar and crush it with a pair of pliers in the dark, you can see a bluish flash. Some other crystals do that too. Nobody knows why. The phenomenon is called ?triboluminescence.?? Then someone will go home and try it. Then there?s an experience of nature.?

Can you relate to that? because I can!

?I am hoping I am not alone in feeling so! oopsie!! hehe

IBM manufactures light-based 'nanophotonic' chips to let the terabytes flow

IBM manufactures lightbased 'nanophotonic' chips to let the terrabytes flow

IBM's taken a large step toward computer chips that use photons instead of electrons by manufacturing the first 90nm silicon-based optical processing modules. It did so using the CMOS nanophotonics technology we first saw back in 2010, creating tranceivers capable of 25Gbps transfer speeds. By multiplexing a large number of those streams to a single fibre, "terrabytes of data" per second could flow between distant computer systems," according to IBM. The 90 nanometer light circuits should allow data-hungry servers or supercomputers to scale up rapidly in speed "for the next decade, and at the desired low cost," according to the researchers. It's now primed for commercial development, meaning we could see an end to bottlenecks in systems "a few centimeters or a few kilometers" apart from each other. Check the PR for the detailed technical skinny.

Gunman killed after rampage on Indian reservation

By NBC News staff

Tulare County Sheriff's Office

Authorities say Hector Celaya, 31, was fatally wounded in a shootout with detectives.

A man shot four people dead, including a child, on a Central California Indian reservation and wounded two other children before being killed in a shootout with detectives after a car chase, authorities said.

The violence started Saturday night on the Tule River Indian Reservation in Porterville, Calif., the Tulare County Sheriff?s Office said.

Deputies responding to a 911 call found a man and a woman shot inside a trailer and a male juvenile suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Irene Celaya, 60, and Francisco Moreno, 61, were confirmed dead. Six-year-old Andrew Celaya was transported to a hospital.

At a shed on the same property, deputies found the body of another man, Bernard Franco (AKA Moreno), 53, who died of an apparent gunshot wound.

The person who called police said the suspect fled the scene in a green Jeep Cherokee.

Authorities identified the suspect as Hector Celaya, 31, and said he had taken his two daughters, 8-year-old Alyssa Celaya and 5-year-old Linea Celaya. Deputies said the suspect had allegedly shot the children.

A deputy spotted the suspect?s vehicle and tried to stop it but the driver kept going, the sheriff?s office said. Linea received non-life threatening injuries. Alyssa died from her gunshot wounds.

The suspect eventually stopped on the side of a road and a shootout ensued, authorities said. The suspect was shot and was transported to the hospital. He later died, the sheriff?s office said.

All victims were related to the suspect and members of the Tule Indian Reservation. No further details were released.

The sheriff?s office did not say what may have precipitated the shootings.

Lawyer says Goldman failed speech software "geniuses"

BOSTON (Reuters) - Goldman Sachs bankers failed to raise red flags about Lernout & Hauspie's accounting irregularities more than a decade ago, costing speech recognition software pioneers at Dragon Systems nearly all of their life's work and about $600 million, a lawyer told a jury on Monday in federal court.

"They were relying on Goldman to take care of them and whether or not they should be worried about these questions," plaintiffs' lawyer Alan Cotler said in his opening statement.

He kicked off what is expected to be a two-month courtroom battle in U.S. District Court in Boston.

The trial pits Janet and James Baker, a suburban Boston husband-and-wife team that launched Dragon from the living room of their home with $30,000, against Goldman Sachs, the iconic Wall Street bank whose reputation has been tarnished in more recent years on allegations it has treated some clients shabbily.

In the case brought by the Bakers, Goldman Sachs Group Inc denies civil claims that include gross negligence and breach of fiduciary duty. Opening statements from Goldman's legal team could come later on Monday or early Tuesday when the trial resumes.

In 2000, just months after Belgium-based Lernout & Hauspie acquired Dragon for $580 million in an all-stock deal, the company collapsed in an accounting scandal that sent it reeling into bankruptcy.

The Bakers owned 51 percent of Dragon, but only sold a few million dollars worth of their stock because of restrictions, Cotler told a jury. He added that the couple later received a $70 million settlement from a group of companies that advised Lernout & Hauspie in the transaction with Dragon.

The Bakers and two other early Dragon employees are seeking at least several hundred million dollars in damages.

In 1999, Dragon Systems hired Goldman as its financial adviser. The company, started in 1982 in West Newton, Massachusetts, was struggling and Lernout & Hauspie emerged as a buyer when another suitor decided not to pursue a deal, according to Goldman's defense in the case.

Cotler said a team of four Goldman bankers, led by Richard Wayner, gave favorable and positive advice about Lernout & Hauspie in the weeks before the deal closed. Goldman was about to earn $5 million for its work, court papers show.

Goldman's team, however, had concerns about L&H's exponential revenue growth in Asia. Cotler said Goldman did not even take one of most preliminary steps in vetting L&H's revenue claims -- contacting L&H customers in Asia.

In fact, the Goldman team internally was not satisfied with the answers it was getting from L&H on deal-critical red flag issues, particularly the company's Asia revenue growth, Cotler said.

Still, during a conference call with Goldman's Lernout & Hauspie expert in London, further positive assurances were given to Dragon's leadership, Cotler said.

Only years later did the Goldman analyst from that call admit he wasn't aware of the extent of Lernout & Hauspie's Asian revenue growth. Had he known, he would have been skeptical, Cotler said.

"These were salt of the earth people who are geniuses at what they do," Cotler said, describing the key figures at Dragon. But the world of Wall Street and high finance was unfamiliar terrain for them. It was the reason why they put their faith in Goldman, the best and biggest investment bank in the world, he added.

Join our #youthskillswork infographic competition ? World Education ...

Data are key to telling us how well we are doing in progressing towards Education for All ? whether countries are on track or off track, and who is getting left behind in entering school or learning once inside the classroom. Policymakers need to be presented with such information in easily accessible ways to make sure they know whether they are fulfilling their commitments. This is why the Education for All Global Monitoring Report team is seeking your help to communicate these data to policymakers.

Lack of Skills

Every year, the Education for All Global Monitoring Report collates statistics from multiple sources and displays them as?tables, graphs and charts. For the past two reports, we have also made?infographics?out of some of the key findings. A growing online tool for visualizing complicated data, infographics are hugely useful to reports such as ours which are grappling with communicating the complexity and importance of the evidence we bring together for making policy recommendations on issues such as reaching marginalized children, making sure education reaches those living in conflict-affected countries, or making sure young people have the right skills they need for work.

We are seeking your help to visualize our data and message, and are delighted to announce that we have formed a partnership with the Guardian Datablog and?Visual.ly, one of the biggest infographic communities in the world, to launch an infographic competition on the subject of?Youth and Skills: Putting education to work.?Winners will have their infographic posted on the Guardian DataBlog and will become certified designers on Visual.ly?s Marketplace.

This competition is part of our youth-led campaign, ?Let?s put education to work?, comprised of an online petition, blogs, polls, competitions and even a?photo and film contest?run by another of our partners, TakingITGlobal.

In addition, we?re delighted to announce that we?ve launched the first ever global SMS campaign for young people who might not have computers to add their voices too: participants just text their name, age, country and what job they would do if they had the skills to +447580 484 263.

Competitors should work from one of the following datasets to create their infographics:

  1. Key facts and statistics
  2. Or: ?Young women in rural areas are most likely to lack foundation skills for work?
  3. Or: ?Youth from wealthy households are more likely to attain basic foundation skills for?work?
  4. Or: take your own data from our new website:?The Worldwide Inequality Database on Education

You don?t have to be an expert to design a graphic ? there are many?free online infographic tools to work from. So try your hand and send your submissions through to ?contest@visual.ly?or?efareport@unesco.org (with #youthskillswork in the subject line).

Surprise! Alcohol Makes 16% of Americans' Calorie Intake | Foodbeast

No, seriously. We like it?a lot.?Like 16% of our calorie intake a lot.

It seems this does come as a surprise to some, though. Now that we?re at the point where even McDonald?s lists total calories on its menu, and there?s a low-fat, sugar-free, n0-gluten version of everything, we have to start looking at other culprits for this whole ?obesity? thing. Namely, alcohol. Apparently, Americans consume around 100 calories worth of booze?a day, according to the National Center for Health Statistics.

The same report goes on to say that the aforementioned 16 percent comes from the 32.7 percent of men and 18 percent of women who drink on a daily basis, and that 16 percent ?is the same percentage as added sugars contribute to U.S. children?s diets.?

Other findings include:

  • Men consume an average of 150 calories from alcoholic beverages, while women average 50 calories.
  • The highest caloric intake was seen in men aged 20 to 39, who consume almost 175 calories daily on average from alcoholic beverages.
  • Average calories from alcoholic beverages were greatest among those in the highest income category: those living at or above 350 percent of the poverty level consumed 117 calories a day from alcohol, compared to 91 calories in those living at poverty level.
  • More of men?s alcohol calories come from beer than other liquor types; women?s were fairly equivalent across beer, wine and spirits.

In other words, we need to drink more water. Just? as a nation.

While the first two are happily combined, the third tends to get in the way, since it turns out the average reader is uninterested in sleep blogs.
